Margaret & Stephen will provide you with a warm welcome, great food and a special place to stay whilst visiting Exmoor, Somerset & North Devon. Our accommodation is rated Visit Britain 4 star, Silver Award (July 2010).
Sundial House is a lovely 17th Century cottage in Wheddon Cross, the heart of Exmoor. Our accommodation provides a cosy and relaxing base for bed, breakfast and dinner. The cottage takes its name from the large stone sundial set into the front of the house. Our accommodation occupies a central position in the moorland village of Wheddon Cross, which at 1,000ft above sea level is the highest village in Exmoor National park. Wheddon Cross boasts a post office, general store and village pub.
Sundial House is the perfect bed & breakfast accommodation for visiting the beautiful villages of Dunster, Exford, Porlock, Lynton & Lynmouth, and Dulverton. The beauty spots of Watersmeet and Tarr steps and the beaches of Woolacombe and Braunton are also within easy distance. In February Wheddon Cross becomes the centre for exploring the beautiful Snowdrop valley.

Walking in Exmoor
There are a number of long distance footpaths nearby, including the Coleridge Way, which passes through Wheddon Cross making Sundial House the perfect place for bed and breakfast whilst walking in Exmoor. You can also do many other circular walks directly from the door, including Snowdrop Valley, which is spectacular in February.

If you like to get more active there are lots of local events that take place throughout the year. We are close to Wimbleball lake where there are various watersports, including sailing and fishing.
As you would expect in Exmoor there are plenty of places to go horse riding and pony trekking for the day, which we can arrange for you.
